BOOKS® Bookshop brand new to very old books Tel. 01732 363000 Victoria Hislop Book Signing and Chat at Mr. Books took place on Saturday May 23rd 4pm to 5pm Victoria, who has strong connections with Tonbridge and is the wife of the wonderfully witty Ian Hislop, came to Mr. Books to talk informally about her best selling novels, The Island and The Return, and to sign copies of the books. We hope that this was the first of many big name and up and coming author signings at Mr. Books. Watch this space.... Also see book signings at the West Kent Book Fair and Literary Event held twice a year at Tonbridge School. Shop Opening Hours Monday: closed Tuesday: 10am to 5-30pm Wednesday: 10am to 4-30pm Thursday: 11am to 7-30pm Friday: 10am to 4-30pm Saturday: 10 am to 5-30pm Sunday occasionally open (phone to check) Over 15,000 books, and constantly being replenished, at any one time in our shop at 2 Bank Street, just behind Tonbridge High Street and very close to the medieval Castle in the heart of the old part of town. Any NEW BOOK can be ordered in shop or by phone All major credit and debit cards accepted We can obtain any new book in-print and virtually any out-of-print book via a number of sources such as other book fairs, book searches and a network of contacts in the book trade. Tonbridge Insider feature shop and profile Mr. Books December 2009....Poetry at the Pub featured in Tonbridge Insider and on local radio station KMFM....MR. BOOKS was one of four featured shops on AbeBooks; two were in the USA, one in New Zealand and the other is ourselves! ...Shortly after opening Mr.Books was featured in Book & Magazine Collector (BCM) August 2005 issue: with a full page article and photos of the shop....The shop and the book fairs have been featured very regularly on local radio, in local newspapers, national newspapers in the UK (once!) and on various book-related websites....Mr. Books has also been known to pay for advertisements in local newspapers, BCM magazine, local parish magazines, Yellow Pages, and the Tonbridge Juddians Rugby Club's fixtures lists (old loyalties!)
