This welcome addition to the history of Tonbridge in the Second World War tells the story of how a small market town prepared for and then survived the hostilities.

Eddie Prescott captures detail known only to those who lived through and recorded the events of 1939-45 - the defences erected in the High Street, the volunteers organised, the evacuations and the experience of having 'The Few' fight their desperate defence against the Luftwaffe in the skies above.

As well as maps and the records of the council through the war citing every bomb, V1 and V2 that hit the town, Eddie also reveals the Nazi's plans for Tonbridge School!

All proceeds of the book go to support the Salvation Army.
