Ian Tucker-Bell. Plays: 1
From Today Everything Changes
“A moving, exquisite production telling an important and pertinent story”
“A heart-felt considered story of love conquering all”
“Shot through with a Northern humour...a killer punchline”
“...conveys a heart-breaking theme, with no need for the dramatics. It will urge anyone to call their friend, father, brother or son. There’s a need to ... pass down a different way for young men to deal with their emotions, and Being Frank is a huge step towards this goal”
Hobn*bs and Fruitcake
“This is a gem...The pace is so sharp it felt like ten minutes instead of the hour”
“I laughed so much, I was glad I was wearing a Tena”
In these four one-act plays, Ian Tucker-Bell challenges audiences and actors to think afresh about the drama and comedy of families, about mental health and learning to face the truths that LGBTQ+ people have had to hide...and cake.
Working with Orange Works since 2017, Ian Tucker-Bell and his plays have become regulars at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival attracting loyal audiences aged from 15 to 95 and five star reviews.
These 50 minute plays draw inspiration from John Godber, Frantic Assembly and commedia dell’arte. They are ideal for amateur and professional companies who want to entertain whilst carrying the banner for trans women, older gay men and anyone who, in the face of family and society’s expectations, needs courage to be their authentic self...or just likes to laugh at cake-based nonsense.
